Mr. Tanaka worked for several years in the settings of Clinical Laboratory work and Clinical Research studies before pursuing his legal career.  During his education and training at Pepperdine University School of Law, he had the privilege of serving as a judicial extern in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court (Central District of California) and also earned the American Jurisprudence Award in Negotiation & Settlement Advocacy.

After working for three years for another medical malpractice defense firm, Mr. Tanaka joined the team at Dummit, Buchholz & Trapp where he defends matters for clients including acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and medical physician groups.  He handles all phases of case evaluation and workup including law and motion, witness and expert depositions, and settlement negotiations.  Mr. Tanaka often handles the more complex cases including those alleging permanent impairments, catastrophic brain injuries, and elder or dependent adult abuse.  He has also achieved success in briefing and arguing matters before the California Second District Court of Appeals.
